Michelle was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She completed her Master’s of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of Calgary and is a registered psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists as well as a member of the Psychological Association of Alberta.

Michelle’s approach to therapy is similar to her philosophy of working with horses. When things are not working well, we often need to look at ourselves and change our behaviour or approach to see the desired change. Therapy like riding horses is a process of continual learning that increases awareness, allowing us to observe our behaviours and thoughts more closely to understand how these may impact our lives.

Before becoming a psychologist, Michelle worked as a teacher for the Calgary Board of Education and various rural school divisions in southern Alberta. Working as a teacher allowed Michelle to gain insight into the diversity of students requiring support in our education system. She has dedicated her life to improving the lives of children by advocating for inclusion and building the capacity of teachers and administrators in their understanding of mental health and universal design in education.

Michelle specializes in completing psycho-educational assessments for school-aged children and has experience treating Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disorders, Anxiety, Depression and Trauma. In addition to this Michelle can complete mental health, ADHD and capacity assessments (PDD/AISH) for adults.
